Antonia (Dona) Papastylianou is a Professor in Social Psychology. She holds a ptychion degree (BA)  from the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the Νational and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a postgraduate degree in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a PhD in Psychology (in  a Cross-Cultural Psychology topic) from  the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (ΝKUoA). She is now Professor in Social Psychology at the ΝKUoA and Director of the Postgraduate Programme “Applied Psychology for Children and Adolescents” (ΝΚUoA) while she was a co-founder and member of the Coordination Committee of the joint Master’s Degree of the ΝKUoA Department of Preschool Education and the Democritus University of Thrace (Dept. of Social Work and Policy) “Counselling Psychology and Counselling in Education, Health and Work” (2009-2015). She teaches in Master Courses in Greece and abroad mainly educators and psychologists. She is trained in Systemic Individual and Family Psychotherapy.  

She had served as a co-ordinator of the Division of Counseling Psychology of the Hellenic Association of Psychology (ELPSE) (2009-2013) as well as of the Division of Cross-Cultural Psychology (ELPSE) (2009-2016). She has co-ordinated and participated in numerous training and scientific programs on cross-cultural adaptation of immigrant students as well as on tackling bullying in school settings and tackling domestic violence (European Programme DAPHNE ΙΙΙ, DAPHNE ΙΙΙ Research Programme: VI.C.T.I.MS,  KANEP - GSEE (Center for the Development of Educational Policy –  Greek General Confederation of Labour) & Ministry of Education «In-service Programme for the Sensitization and Professional Growth of Educators- Thematic: School Violence and Delinguency”, ERASMUS+: Εuropean Programme in Promoting Quality and Equity in Education) etc.  

Her research interests are mainly focused in Applied Social Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology, and specifically include the cross-cultural adaptation of migrants, remigrants and indigenous, multicultural issues and counselling, psychosocial issues in the school, domestic and community context, social values, Social Justice and Social Advocacy issues,  emotions and group-counseling/therapy processes.

She is a writer and editor of scientific books, Guest Editor of special issues of scientific journals while she publishes in peer-reviewed journals, she is a reviewer in International and national scientific journals and organizes and participates in both national and international conferences.
