Ioannis Tsaousis is Assistant Professor in Psychometrics. He graduated from the Department of Psychology of the University of Crete and obtained his MSc from the University of Reading (UK) in Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology. Finally, he received his Ph.D. degree (as a scholar of Greek National Foundation of Scholarships) from the University of London – Goldsmith’s College in Psychometrics.
His research interests include psychometric theory, test development, theoretical, and the empirical measurement of individual differences (i.e., personality and intelligence). The corollary of this research activity is the development and standardization of more than 20 psychometric instruments in the Greek and English languages. Most of his research projects have been funded by various governmental bodies, such as the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation, the Greek Ministry of Defense, the National Center of Vocational Guidance to develop various psychometric tests that are used in public organizations.
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers in the field of psychology. At the same time, he serves as a reviewer in many scientific peer-reviewed journals in the field of psychometrics. He is also a member of the editorial board of several prestigious international scientific journals, including the International Journal of Testing, publication of the International Test Commission (ITC), Frontiers in Psychology: Quantitative Psychology and Measurement, European Journal of Personality, and International Journal of election and Assessment.
He has been a member of the executive committee and Secretary-General (2010 – 2016) of the European Association of Personality Psychology (EAPP), member of the Scientific and Educational Committee of the National School of Public Administration, and member of the Scientific Committee for the statistical analysis of the National Exams for Teachers in the Republic of Cyprus.
